Pisang (Malay for "banana") is a movie buff who lives in Singapore. In local slang, a banana is someone who is yellow on the outside and white on the inside (similar to "Oreo" in America).
He worships Michael Mann and Joss Whedon, love-hates Michael Bay, likes the Scott brothers; and does not dream of becoming a director. Other favorites include J.J. Abrams, Shane Black, Steven de Souza, Brian
Helgeland, Lawrence Kasdan, Akiva Goldsman, Mamoru Oshii and Matthew
Vaughn. He thinks that Scorcese, Kurosawa, Allen, and the rest of the arty bunch, are way overrated.

love your reviews! keep them coming! :) from a fellow movie geek in Singapore
ReplyDeleteHi, I recently found out that one of my review from my blog Asian Film Strike had been plagiarized (as in, copy-pasted directly) on the website Japancinema.net.
ReplyDeleteSome quick research revealed that other reviews were similar copy-paste jobs. For example, the Triumph in the Skies review copies whole chunks of your review : http://japancinema.net/2015/04/23/triumph-in-the-skies-review/
If the guy actually got your approval to do so, please ignore my comment and feel free to delete it. If not, I just thought you should know about it.
All the best
Thanks. Will look into it. I did not give anyone approval to use my review.
